Alrighty…here’s the part where I complain:
First of all, I was running late. I don’t think my parents understand the meaning of “Early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable.” I can’t drive! I’m depending on them to get me there. We live 40 minutes away from the theater. So when they woke up from their nap, I was like, “Hey, we have to go now or I’ll be late.” So my mother goes and jumps in the shower and then takes 20 minutes to get out the door. My call was 5:30 and we started costume parade at 6, so I wanted to be there at 5:15 before the dressing rooms started to get crowded. We left at 4:55. I was beyond pissed. Then they ask me why I’m so anxious all the time. I WANT TO DO THINGS RIGHT. Sorry.
Secondly, our pianist wasn’t able to come in tonight. So essentially, it was just a cue-to-cue, but everyone said every single line and sang acapella. There was so much tedious waiting. It was rough. And then there was the fact that there is limited air conditioning and costumes that weigh 25 pounds per person. Someone’s getting hospitalized for heat stroke this week, I can tell you that right now. Especially with stage lights beating down on you. And my shoes didn’t help either. Those things are gorgeous, but ooh gurrrrrlll. After standing for 4 hours in those things, my feet felt like I was walking on glass.
Thirdly, while we were waiting on stage for them to fix the lights for the ball scene. We were informed that it was 10 minutes before 10 (when we were supposed to leave) and we hadn’t even gotten through the end of the second act. So we were kept until 11. An hour goes by, and we hadn’t started the third act (or continuation of Act 2, as Chris Jones puts it) yet. So we have to finish that before our run tomorrow.
But then some funny shit happened, too. The professionals are hilarious. What else do you have to do when your standing around?
And also, my mom got me Sheetz. Okay…it’s a gas station, but they have a fast food place inside. THAT FOOD IS SO GOOD. Northerners/Virginians should know what I’m talking about. 5 piece chicken strips and some honey mustard. GET IN MY MOUTH. I’ve literally been living off of it for the past 2 weeks.
Welcome, Tumblr…to tech week at The Prizery.
